Adventure Bike day camp- Denver

    Campers will experience the thrill and the fun of life on two wheels.  We explore local trails, cultivate a love for cycling at the same time as working on safety and bike handling skills.   


    Denver has great bike trails that can take the kids on wonderful adventures - Confluence Park; Museums; Ice Cream; Cherry Creek Reservoir via the Greenwood Village Mountain Bike Trail ; Ruby Hill Bike Park, Barnum Mountain Bike Park;  and many other fun places!   It is a blast exploring on two wheels.    


    Dates:

    • Bike Adventure  Day Camp June 24-28 (Register)
    • Bike Adventure Day Camp  July 15-19 (Register)

    Time:      9:00am - 3:00pm  

    Location:  Good Turn Cycles, 1401 Zuni St, Denver

    Age: 9 - 14 (and must meet requirements below) 

    Registration: $300 for 5 day

    Provided with Registration:

    • Morning & Afternoon snacks
    • Hydration (must have a water bottle)
    • Coaching
    • Basic mechanical support

    Not Provided with Registration:

    • Bike Lock
    • Lunch - we will transport the lunch but ask that the campers bring their own lunch

    Requirements:

    • Must be able to ride a bike. This is a camp to improve bike skills but not to teach them how to ride a bike
    • Must have a working bike
    • Must have a safe helmet

    It will be casual ride working on riding as a group  with a stop at the Barnum Trestle Bike Skills Park .  After Barnum we will head to Ruby Hill Bike Park. Both parks have offerings for beginners to advanced.

     We will head to Washington Park via the Cherry Creek Bike Path and stop off to switch to some special rental bikes at Washington Park just for a fun change! Then we will head off for ice cream before we end the day!

     We base the Day 3 schedule on the interest and ability of the campers.   We guarantee it will be fun and include ice cream!

    Day 1 Confluence Park

     A nice easy ride along the Platte River Trail towards Confluence Park and beyond. This ride is a chance to see how everyone rides as a group and to test some bike skills. There will be a chance to wade in the water at Confluence Park.  

    Day 2 Bike Parks!

    A casual ride with 2 bike parks.  First,  will be the Barnum Trestle Bike Skills Park followed by the  Ruby Hill Bike Park.   Both bike parks offer opportunities for beginners to advanced and fun for all!

    Day 4 Village Green Skills Park

     The Day 3 ride will cover riding on both trails and some of Denver's designated bike lanes on city streets.   It is important to learn critical safety skills on the bike.  A stop at City Park to switch to the pedals of a swam boat and lunch!

    Today is a long ride.   We will travel on the Cherry Creek Bike Path to the Village Green Mountain Bike Skills Park.   We will only travel one way and have parents pick-up at Village Green so we have more time at the bike park!

    Routes are subject to change for various reasons such as weather; muddy trails closing bike parks; level of ability, and mechanical issues, We stay together as a group and have a car on standby.   The goal is to have fun, learn skills, challenge the campers, and be  safe!
